Your Way is Better…
There is always more than way to attack a problem. However, there are only a few ways that can meet with success. One sure way to ensure that you are on the right track is to seek God for the path that He designates. After seeking God and feeling as if you have His plan, confirm it by going to His Word. I have found through much trial and even more error, that His way is better.
There is much upheaval in our nation today. It is probably even safe to say that our nation is pretty much evenly divided by polar opposites. Podcasts, pundits, protestors abound. Yet there is seemingly no end to this division. As I was reading Jeremiah, a remedy to this madness surfaced, for Israel during the time of Jeremiah was much like our nation today. In fact, it was worse, for much of the nation’s citizens had been carted off to a foreign land. Here was the advice Jeremiah gave:
7 Seek peace and well-being for the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf; for in its peace (well-being) you will have peace.’ 8 For thus says the Lordof hosts, the God of Israel, ‘Do not let your [false] prophets who are among you and your diviners deceive you; pay no attention and attach no significance to the dreams which they dream or to yours, 9 for they prophesy falsely to you in My Name. I have not sent them,’ says the Lord. Jeremiah 29:7-9 (Amplified)
Jeremiah heard from God. Even though he was very familiar with the problems that had occurred in his beloved nation, he did not tell them to rise up in protest. He clearly stated that whether in bondage in Babylon or whether in bondage in Israel – “seek peace and well-being” (for wherever you live), For it was God that said don’t listen to the voices around you – listen instead to Him. Our Father God is the only one who knows the end from the beginning. He is the only one that can bring absolute peace. He is the only one that can encourage the hearts of men to see more than their position, but to see the other position as well.
God is the ultimate mediator. In fact, one of Jesus’ names is the Prince of Peace. He may not move as fast as we want Him to, but when He moves – it is always in the right direction to bring the greatest possible good to the greatest number of people.
Don’t be discouraged, turn your face upward, don’t listen to the clanging voices, only One holds the world in His Hands, and His way is better.
