A CALL TO BATTLE!
For the past three to four weeks we have been on an escalating alert concerning the coronavirus or covid-19. Slowly, one thing after another began to shut down – to the point where at least sixteen states have issued stay-at-home orders, with even more states closing schools and other non-essential businesses.This is not only having a frightening effect on the stock market, it has the potential to bring about a debilitating depression, and because this little invisible to the eye germ has affected the whole world which is totally economically interdependent, then what kind of result will that produce?
It seems to be its’ time to declare a war cry! It’s time for the church to go to war:
The world is unprincipled. It’s dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn’t fight fair. But we don’t live or fight our battles that way—never have and never will. The tools of our trade aren’t for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity. 2 Corinthians 10:4 (MSG)
NO, you can’t fight a germ with guns and blades. You can’t even fight it with persuasive words and commands. This type of war must begin in the hearts of those who believe that God can turn a people who feel as if there is no hope, into a people of hope. To turn a people who are clinging to the latest words on the news, to a people of faith, who believe there is a God who can do anything but fail! It is time for us to recognize that there is a NAME, that is above every NAME and at that NAME, every knee must bow. We must speak to the mountains the we want moved and cast into the sea. We must pray to the God of all comfort to comfort those who are sick and raise them up off of their sick beds. Haven’t we been in the struggle long enough:
"You will pray to Him, and He will hear you,
And you will pay your vows.
28
"You will also decide and decree a thing, and it will be established for you;
And the light [of God’s favor] will shine upon your ways.
29
"When you are cast down and humbled, you will speak with confidence,
And the humble person He will lift up and save. Job 22;27-29 (AMP)
Instead of speaking that we will be in quarantine for the next few weeks and that the school year is shot for the children; how about pronouncing the God we serve is mighty to deliver:
17 The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. Zephaniah 3: 18 (KJV)
All hail King Jesus – nothing is too hard for you!!
