A Question of Opinion!
On today’s prayer call, a word came forth that was too good not to pass on. It was more than just a message, it was a Rhema Word given by Pastor Tony. Taken from the text in Numbers 23:19 (The Voice):
Balaam: Listen up, Balak, and attend to these words:
Hear, son of Zippor, what God has to say to you.
19 God is not a man—He doesn’t lie.
God isn’t the son of a man to want to take back what He’s said,
Or say something and not follow through,
or speak and not act on it.
20 Look here, I received a word of blessing,
and He has spoken a blessing.
I cannot take it back.
21 There is no vision of wrongdoing by Jacob;
God has seen no trouble for Israel.
The Eternal One abides among them;
and the shout of a king is among them.
This is a familiar story to many, but this translation may not be as familiar. We all have heard that God is not a man who can lie – in fact He is the personification of all that is true! In this passage we see more of what truth entails. Truth can’t take back what it has brought forth. Think of it, if God gave you a promise, He will not take it back, it’s in operation. The only one who can negate your promise is you. If you determine that the lies of the enemy that God isn’t going to do it, just because it has not manifested yet, and refuse to pray it through, then, yes it can be derailed by the enemy. What God has blessed, is blessed – period.
Looking through the lens of Balak, the king of Moab, he saw a threat to his people, and as such considered the Israelites to be bad, and wanted to curse them. Yet, as Balaam so says concerning them, God did not see trouble for Israel, that He, God was in fact with them and had given them a king among them!
This is so reflective of the situation of God’s people today. While the world may look upon as a threat needing to be cursed, God finds no fault. He is not dealing with us according to public opinion, He is dealing with us according to His opinion – and when it comes to Him passing out blessings, whose opinion do you want?
