Be Careful Little Mouth What You Say!
Something we don’t know when we are growing up, that will smack us in the face as we grow older is the truth of the saying, ‘what goes around will come around”. As sure as you breathe, the very things that you found fault with in someone else have a strange way of creeping up on you:
My beloved friends, if you see a believer who is overtaken with a fault, the one who is in the Spirit should seek to restore him in the Spirit of gentleness. But keep watch over your own heart so that you won’t be tempted to exalt yourself over him. Galatians 6:1(TPT)
While we may look at someone else who is struggling with a fault, we may be tempted to say, “I would NEVER” do that.” Be careful in what you say because life has a way of bringing that same thing around to you. It may have different clothes on, but it’s the same spirit!
The best thing we can learn early on in our walk with the Lord is not to judge, for as the scripture says:
For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. Luke 6:38 (KJV)
Our Father forgives us our shortcomings and failures, and He expects us to do the same thing with one another. There is something in us that vies to have a one up on others, particularly if we don’t like them. So whether we out and out criticize, or make it a matter of prayer (you know Sis. So and so did this.. we should pray for her). Whatever the situation, the best thing to do is to ask the Lord:
Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips. Psam 141:3
