Because He Lives!

Today I was privileged to be present when my 29th grandchild made his entry into this world. Fortunately his parents did not consult a newspaper to determine whether he should be born. They trust in God to care for him, just as they do for his brothers and sisters. I have that trust as well, for all throughout scripture it reminds us of God’s love:

Then we’ll be a choir—not our voices only, but our very lives singing in harmony in a stunning anthem to the God and Father of our Master Jesus! Romans 15:6 (MSG)

For our God created a masterpiece of song, and our lives are the voices that sing in harmony with its’ tune. What great love the Father has to skillfully orchestrate a symphony of diverse shades and voices, and fine tune them so perfectly that they operate in harmony!

We know that there are some lives that are still off-key because the prince of the power of the air still has influence over all those who yield to him. Yet I hear the words of a song that convinces me every time of the hope that I have for all babies born and unborn:

“…How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he brings;
But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!…”
