Can You Say Amen to This?
Granted, we cannot say Amen to everything that is stated in church. However, we should be able to give a hearty Amen to the Word of God. I chose a good one today:
when I was at the end of my rope, he saved me.
7-8 I said to myself, “Relax and rest.
God has showered you with blessings.
Soul, you’ve been rescued from death;
Eye, you’ve been rescued from tears;
And you, Foot, were kept from stumbling.”
9-11 I’m striding in the presence of God,
alive in the land of the living! Psalm 116 6b-9 (MSG)
This scripture grabbed me, because in a sense I felt like this today.
I’ve been struggling with a class I am taking. Unforseen circumstances broke my focus; how was I going to get its back? I felt a little as if I was at the end of my rope! Hallelujah, once more and again “He saved me” – Once more and agin He rescued me from a kind of death – a separation from what I know about HIs goodness and kindness.
Going to the Psalmist I see these beautiful words:
“God has showered (me) with blessings.
Soul, (I) have been rescued from death;
Eye, (I) have been rescued from tears;
And you, Foot, were kept from stumbling.
What is the result, once more and again I am walking in the presence of God, feeling very much alive in the land of the living. Can’t look back, won’t look back – pressing forward – ever more your Hand leads me.
Now this I can say Amen to!
Maria
Amen!
