Darkness Prevents the Light of Truth!
Very skillfully the enemy has wove us into a web of deception in this country. Believers have willing fully followed into this insidious plot, as much as anyone else. What has occurred is that we have been split right down the middle into two opposing ideologies that each think the other is the devil. The devil, who orchestrated this master plan is lurking in the background loving his work!
What is the major deception – is it what the news portrays – or does it somehow go deeper? Could it be that it is so simple, that we are missing it? This is the conclusion that I have come to – for when all is said and done- our issue will not be with one party or another, our life and our work will be put before a holy God, who is our ultimate judge. There will be some questions that will be asked and one of them will be, "did you follow that which I asked of you"? When it comes to how we loved – what will be our answer:
20-21 If anyone boasts, "I love God," and goes right on hating his brother or sister, thinking nothing of it, he is a liar. If he won’t love the person he can see, how can he love the God he can’t see? The command we have from Christ is blunt: Loving God includes loving people. You’ve got to love both.1 John 4: 20-21 (MSG)
Will we be able to say that we loved God with all of our hearts? Will be able to say that we were able to put aside partisan politics to love people, all people? Will be able to say that no matter what was going on that we remained true to loving God and loving people?
I hear a song in my spirit today, it’s an old song, but I want to share a verse or two:
¨"¨No need to worry, no need to fret,"¨
all of my needs, the man named Jesus has met.
"¨His love protects me from hurt and from harm,"¨
Jesus is, Jesus is the light of the world.
"¨"¨If the gospel be hid, it’s hid from the lost,
"¨my Jesus is waiting to look past your faults."¨
Arise and shine, your light has come,
"¨Jesus is, I know that He is the only light of this world.
We’ll walk in the light, beautiful light,
Come where the dew-drops of mercy are bright;
Shine all around us by day and by night,
Jesus, the light of the world… Walk in the Light, public domain.
There have been many renditions of this old hymn – this was just a couple of the verses that I feel we so desperately need today. May it be your prayer, as it is mine today that the darkness be cast off by the beautiful light of the love of Jesus so we can walk this journey of life out as God would have us..
