Getting Back in That Circle!
A few years ago I went through Mark Batterson’s book, Drawing the Circle. In fact, I went through it more than once. I had tremendous answers to prayer, some I never thought would happen. It was an amazing time of faith-building in my life.
I have decided I want to get back in that circle:
When I was desperate, I called out,
and God got me out of a tight spot.
7 God‘s angel sets up a circle
of protection around us while we pray.
8 Open your mouth and taste, open your eyes and see—
how good God is.
Blessed are you who run to him. Psalm 34:6-8 (MSG)
While there is no miracle in drawing a circle and placing a prayer request in it; there is a miracle in the faith that we release in believing that God will do it. Drawing the circle is only a tangible reminder of the confidence we are placing in God to do what we request. Seeing those circles daily helps to remind us that these are the prayers we are focusing in on during this particular season.
Analyzing the why’s and wherefore’s won’t get the job done. Drawing the Circle around a prayer request and reading the corresponding devotional helped me to focus on certain specific things in prayer. Whatever helps us us, we need to do, the bottom line is to pray and believe.
Blessings,
Maria
