How to Live THANKFUL!

It was one thing to say we are thankful on Thanksgiving, it’s quite another to LIVE every day thankful. Thankfully, we have scripture to help us:

Everything in the world is about to be wrapped up, so take nothing for granted. Stay wide-awake in prayer. Most of all, love each other as if your life depended on it. Love makes up for practically anything. Be quick to give a meal to the hungry, a bed to the homeless—cheerfully. Be generous with the different things God gave you, passing them around so all get in on it: if words, let it be God’s words; if help, let it be God’s hearty help. That way, God’s bright presence will be evident in everything through Jesus, and he’ll get all the credit as the One mighty in everything—encores to the end of time. Oh, yes! 1 PETER 4:10 (MSG)

The way we live thankful is to first of all ‘stay wide-awake in prayer’. Attacks from the enemy, even distractions can cause us to get knocked off our square- unexpected things happen so quickly that we become self-focused; we couldn’t care less about anyone else because we have too many problems of our own. When we allow the God-breathed results of prayer guide us, then we CAN "love each other as if our lives depend on it". We also find practical and creative ways to show that love – by "giving a meal to the hungry, or a bed to the homeless’

We are officially in the Christmas season for 2020. For many people gift giving. and gift receiving is their love language. However, is it greater to give expensive gifts that we can’t afford, that will one day wear or perish; or, would it better to give the gift of ourselves, a gift that. will go on even unto eternity?
