I’m Pressing On…!
Scripture informs us that the times and the seasons are in His Hands. If you take a cursory look at the world, you might wonder what is God thinking? It seems as if there is tumult and confusion everywhere. Yet, in the midst of this there are yet miracles taking place. There are hearts being changed, families being united, and the church of Jesus Christ is still alive and moving forward.
As believers we don’t live in a fantasy world where we don’t see the sin around us. There is no doubt that satan is parading about causing as much devastation as he can and he is using people to do it. What it does mean that our concentration has to be on partnering with God to tear down the works of the devil and upbuild the Kingdom of God.
How do we do this? Our first step is spending time with God. Coming into His Presence and waiting as He downloads in us the things we need to pray about. If we listen we will also hear clear directives as to how we can provide service in His work. Whether it’s spending time with one child or five hundred, God can move through us in helping to shape this generation and the next.
Each of us are equipped to do a different job. Romans 12 tells us:
6In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. 7If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. 8If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.
9Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Romans 12:6-9 NLT
Clarification concerning gifts and assignments is good, but if you look at verse 9 we see a real key to changing our world. Really loving people, really hating what is wrong, and really holding tight to what is good. This changes our perspective, and our perspective keeps us pressing on to victory!
