Jesus, Sees… by Neesha M. Stringfellow

God’s power still reigns and shows up for us. We don’t have to worry; sometimes we just have to understand that Jesus sees us. He sees our every need and understands how we can become weary and faint on our journey (Isaiah 40:29). Not just in our physical bodies, we must trust that He will show up for us.

In Mark 8, we read about how Jesus had compassion on the 4,000 who followed Him into the wilderness for three days. He saw that they were hungry and performed the miracle of feeding them with seven loaves and a few small fish (Mark 8:1-9). Sometimes on our journey, we might not think Jesus sees us, but He does. He is aware of our needs, and we may have to make sacrifices and walk through trials. Never doubt that He sees what we need; right on time, He shows up with a miracle (Philippians 4:19).

Jesus commanded the multitude to sit, took the loaves, broke them, and prayed over them. The people ate until they were full (Mark 8:6-8). I can only imagine that this miracle, though not explicitly mentioned elsewhere in the Bible, happened many times as people walked with Jesus. They didn’t always know the path ahead, but they had to trust Him.

The power of God is worthy and trustworthy. This does not mean we will not face wilderness experiences or hunger for more than what life has provided, but if we be still and know that we can trust Him, things will work out (Psalm 46:10). There is a scripture that says, “I have never seen the righteous forsaken or his seed begging for bread” (Psalm 37:25). Trust His power and trust that He sees us.
