Jesus, With Skin On…

When you think of all that God is, all that He has done; His great power and majesty. You have to wonder why God would take such pains to try to get our attention. And yet He does, constantly seeking ways to help us understand His great love for us:

No ear heard, no eye seen, a God like you
who works for those who wait for him.
You meet those who happily do what is right,
who keep a good memory of the way you work. Isaiah 64:4 (MSG)

I love this passage from Isaiah. It constantly reminds me that there is no one in all the earth and beyond that will find a way to reward even wayward children that merely just wait on HIM. Although the passage continues by saying that HE is looking to reward those who do right, I think the later part of that verse is more true: (those)”who keep a good memory fo the way you work”. For when the die is cast, the evidence comes forth that “there is none does good, no, not one”!

Just like a child that studies their parents speaking to them a “yes” or. a “no” – that child looks to see how long, and how much it will take for the “no” to become a “yes’. Will tears do it, bribery, manipulation? We have found God rewards faith, and if we are willing to wait before Him with a humble heart – we get residue blessings from our God of grace.

I contend however, that while persistence may move an unjust judge, it will only move God so far. To really enjoy the fellowship of walking and talking with the Lord, it takes more than faith- it takes those who “happily do what is right’. After all the aim of the Holy Spirit in our lives is not for us to get, but to give – to give the world a glimpse of Jesus, with skin on!
