Just a Thought…

I try to stay away from the “woes” in the Bible, for I recognize we all live in a glass house. All too soon the solid rock you think you will never fall from, you stumble from. Pride goes before a fall and all that…

However, this morning I heard the following scripture:

Woe (judgment is coming) to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness;
Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
21
Woe (judgment is coming) to those who are wise in their own eyes

And clever and shrewd in their own sight! Isaiah 5:20-21 (AMP)

Since I try to avoid the woes, it got my attention. I confess for the first time in a long time I listened to the news. What I heard caused me to cry out for the people that were talking. For they were not sharing the news, they were shaping public opinion – with their own. I felt the same way when I listened to the portion of the hearings on January 6th. Questions were not posed as much as opinions that were being placed on public record.

As I stated, I try to stay away from things that interpret the motives of people – I have found through much experience it can get you in much trouble. Yet, I consider myself a fairly informed citizen who can decipher when truth is not being conveyed as much as it is being created.

I have no heaven or hell to put anyone in, nor do I want to. My intention is not debase anyone. I do know that one day there will a day of reckoning where everyone will have to give an account for that which was done in their body – not the city, state, or nation as a whole. With that in mind, I am also astute enough to know that I would do well not to align myself with thinking that has no basis in the word of God – instead I will stick with the “old, old story” – it has served others well throughout the ages, I know I can trust it to do the same for me
