More Than A Page Turner!
We are here in the year of our Lord, 2026! As I reflected on the significance of this new year, I believe that it is more than just turning a page to a new chapter in the book of our life, it’s an entirely new book! We as human beings are facing tremendous challenges, that seem to be pressing upon us, that it can be downright disconcerting. Consider what we are dealing with the introduction of AI into our lives. It has caused a situation where we don’t even know what is real, for AI makes things seem so real that it is hard to tell the difference.
Depending upon our perspective, we can really believe that dogs talk, and babies escape out of their mother’s laps and run away. While these are extreme examples that you find on Tik Tok or Facebook, the truth is that there are much more serious things that are being created by AI or ChaptGPT that can utilize voice technology to put words in our leaders’ mouths that they never would say. We are led to believe what creators and influencers want us to believe, using cunningly developed posts or podcasts.
How then can we know what is true? While you may not be able to vouch on what your favorite politician is actually saying, you can know what is truth and stand on it, not them:
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John14:6
If we come to Jesus, we then have access to the truth:
For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. Colossians 2:9
And through God we will know what is real, and what is not:
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: Colossians 1:16
Only God knows what He created, and He will reveal His secrets to us as we need to know them. He will not leave us in the dark, or on a journey following a false being, or a false truth.
We can trust Him to carry us on a “plain path” to His will for our lives. The psalmist declared:
O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Psalm 63:1-3
If we seek the Lord early, we will see Him, not just in church, but in our every day lives. We don’t have to be concerned as to whether something is true or not, because He will reveal truth to us and let us know when something is false, or not real. Therefore this new book we are living out, could be called, The Will of God For My Life In This Age, a life that will bring glory to God and the abundant life for us.
