Peace – Jesus Peace!

Did you know that you can think you have peace and it really not be peace at all? In this generation of can do anything, because we have everything, there is a false peace that can reside within us that we can handle anything that comes along. We have it all figured out. Until, of course, we don’t. When the unexpected, unexplained comes – then we are confused, upset, and angry with God.

Jesus who really did know all things, saw fit to address this scenario:

Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.] John 14:27(AMP)

Jesus knew that the world would offer us a peace. That it would lure us into a false sense of security. Jesus also knew that life would throw some challenges that the world could never provide control over. With His love, Jesus let us know there would be a difference between what the world gives us and what He will give us. It is a peace totally outside of our human realm, it emanates from the Holy Spirit and exudes us with a calm that is indescribable.

To be completely honest, most of us don’t know of this kind of peace until circumstances present themselves that are totally outside of our purview. Circumstances that necessitate the help of someone mighty big outside of ourselves. Thus, there is no condemnation here if you’ve yet to have it. Just wanted you to know He can give it, and when He does, you know that it’s there.
