Spring Up Oh Well!

There are seasons in our life when we have to draw from the wells of our salvation. All that is inside of us is dry – barren… When that season coincides with the dreariness of a winter day – you have to have hope outside of yourself. I am trodding through a difficult season right now and I had to get my bucket and begin to draw. Fortunately, the well was not dry and as I thought again about the hope promised this advent season, I went to the Book and read this:

but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar upon wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

I know that the KJV reads “those who ‘wait’ on the Lord”, but I was so glad my search engine was set for the NIV. For today,I needed to know that if I could but ‘hope’ – that the Lord Himself will renew my strength; that with that strength I will soar upon wings like an eagle. Just thinking of the span of an eagle is anywhere from 5’9 feet to some breeds as high as 7’7 feet – I feel better already! And because I have been having some challenges in my gait, to think that the Spirit of the Lord will give me to run again, to walk and not feel tired – that is something to look forward to. That is a reason to get up and get dressed and rush into my day!

Reflecting upon my favorite Psalm – the 91st division it says:

The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me.
    I will protect those who trust in my name.
15 When they call on me, I will answer;
    I will be with them in trouble.
    I will rescue and honor them.
16 I will reward them with a long life
    and give them my salvation.” Psalm 91: 14-16(NLT)

I have a God whose wings will cover me and then “rescue me”. He says He will “be with me in trouble“, He says He will even reward me with long life and His salvation. This is the water that is in the well. I drink from it today, I will get stronger; I drink from it tomorrow and I will find strength to heal and strength to conquer.

As Isaiah says in chapter 54, verse 17:

1No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.

Selah.

    Right on time. I was Just reading Revelation‬ ‭21‬‬:‭6‬ GNT
    6 And he said, “It is done! I am the first and the last, the beginning and the end. To anyone who is thirsty I will give the right to drink from the spring of the water of life without paying for it.
