The Joyful Sound!

How I love to enter the house of the Lord and worship has just begun. How I enjoy it even more when I enter into it for myself. The feeling of being immersed in the Spirit of God- of being hid under His arms of protection; of being satisfied with good things; of being refreshed with His love. The Psalmist had this to say:

Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O Lord, in the light of thy countenance. Psalm 89:15 (KJV)

Yes, blessed are the people who can hear the clarion call to worship. Who can get excited as praises ascend and descend from the heavenlies; no good thing will be withheld from them. For it is here that we begin to walk in the glorious light of God’s countenance. It is here that we begin to understand our purpose.

I’m reminded of the opening of the movie, August Rush. Everywhere he goes, August hears music. It’s coming from the sidewalk, the walking of people, the sound of the city; even when he’s still and away from people he can even hear sound emanating from creation. That’s the way our Father wants us to experience this life. Being able to be a transmitter of the melodies of heaven to a world so in need of this.

When our hearts resound with that joyful sound it drives out bitterness and hatred; fear and malice; doubt and unbelief. Courage rises up and we begin to believe that we “can” and we “will”! Glory be to God on high. Even when life deals us our most painful cup, we offer it up to Him who can change water into wine. Let us learn the heartbeat of the Father, it’s a sound, a joyful sound…

This is so encouraging Mother Maria! I am reminded of a portion of Psalms 100: Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Help us Father to always have joy even in the most challenging times. You are faithful!
