The Long-Awaited Day Has FINALLY Come…
Today after 49 years of a Supreme Court ruling that should never have been made – it has finally been overturned. Roe v. Wade has been overturned and the issue of abortion has returned to the states where elected officials can make the determinant legislation for their state. Theoretically at least this leaves the issue with the people, for people elect legislators.
Really the issue doesn’t belong to the legislature, for it was settled long ago:
You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed. Psalm 139: 16 (NLT)
God laid out EVERY DAY of our lives – those days in the womb and those days outside of it. God is still the author of life and He wants it to continue until He finishes it.
Having worked in the Pro-LIfe/Pro-Family arena since the seventies, this is of course a victory. For years pro-lifers said they would be happy if Roe v Wade was overturned. Sadly, this is not enough. Abortion will continue in this country as long as there are people who desire it. What changes however is the premise that somehow abortion is a constitutional right. It never was, and it never will be. And possibly what will change is the right-to-death ideological framework that has hovered over this nation for the past fifty years. This will not only affect abortion, but it has the potential to to change the barbarian spirit of violence permeating our nation.
As long as there is a man on this earth without their redeemer, there will be disagreements and some may even lead to death. When there were only two brothers, Cain and Abel, their disagreement led to the death of one. However, this is a step forward toward life as a nation, and it has been long awaited.
Maria
Thank you Maria for this post! It is indeed a historic day but more importantly a spiritual breakthrough day because the blood of over 61 million innocent unborn babies has been crying out from the earth for justice. “Choose LIFE, that you and your seed (family) may LIVE”. Dad Crawford maybe smiling down from heaven because he worked and prayed so hard for this day to come, that abortion would no longer be the law of the land throughout the entire USA.
