We Are At War!

Make no mistake about it, war is not only going on in the Ukraine. Every blood-bought believer is in a war. Just as modern warfare can execute a war without ever seeing hand to hand combat, so too, we who are engaged in war may never see our opponent with our naked eye, but that does make him less real:

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly place. Ephesians 6:12 (NLT)

How much easier would it be to duck and dodge and find a hide-out if we could see our enemy. As it is, our enemy thrives by hiding in secret, and then pounces on whoever is offending him in real life. I saw the Kendrick brothers film today, “War Room”. Even though I have seen it before, I never tire of seeing the main female leads fighting the good fight of faith – and winning!

We can learn how to fight the right way when we are engaged in a spiritual battle using three tools:

First, recognize and honor the leadership around us by seeking out and listening to them

Second, prepare for your battle by praying first and soliciting the help of the Holy Spirit

Third, offer praise to a God who can do anything but fail.

If you do these things as you wage war, victory may be uncertain as to the details, but it is eminent.

Amen! We fight the good fight of faith because “the good fight” is the fight that we know that Jesus has already won (a quote from one of my late pastors who is in heaven now). PRAISE GOD!
