HeartLife, since its’ inception has shied away from partisan politics. We feel as if we are called to encourage the people of God to live their lives according to the precepts of the Bible, thereby ensuring that we will prosper and have good success in all we do. There are times however when our environment is threatened to such an extent that we need to look at major issues of our day in light of how it affects all of us. We are in such a time now. Our nation is severely divided; things have gotten to a place where we must realize that it is greater than just a political squabble, our country’s very foundation is being shaken.

How appropriate that churches across this nation have entered into a time of prayer and fasting. What an opportunity for the Body of Christ to take up the kind of fat that God has chosen:

If you get rid of unfair practices,
quit blaming victims,
quit gossiping about other people’s sins,…
You’ll use the old rubble of past lives to build anew,
rebuild the foundations from out of your past.
You’ll be known as those who can fix anything,
restore old ruins, rebuild and renovate,
make the community livable again. Isaiah 58: 9-12 (selected verses (MSG)

It’s time for the church to be the CHURCH! While each of us may have our personal favorite politician or party, we are in such a time when we can see, " a house divided against itself cannot stand". In order for resolution to come, it will take more than an act of Congress, it will take an act of God. This can be our greatest hour as believers, to petition the throne rooms of heaven for the government down here. There are numerous scriptures that we can draw on to believe that God hears the cry of those who call unto Him for their nation. Think that there is an impasse to great to cross? The Word of God says:

Good leadership is a channel of water controlled by God

The question is "whose report do you believe" – are you convinced that CNN is your source of truth; that Fox News is of the devil; that you can only trust ABC News? Or are you relying on what God has said

14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)

Let us as the people of God cleanse our hearts and minds from partisan politics and petition the King of Kings in behalf of our nation – there is too much at stake to do otherwise.
