Come To The Altar…

I am almost one hundred percent sure that there is no one reading this post right now that does not have at least one serious problem, even if it isn’t yours personally, but someone in your family. The truth is that we all are facing situations that seem insurmountable. Yet, there is nothing outside of the reach of God. He gave us His Son who understands all things:

14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

1For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:14-16 (KJV)

This one scripture is enough for us to understand that there is nothing we cannot come to Him with. We cannot let shame, fear, or even unbelief keep us from petitioning our high priest for help in time of need.

Jesus has provided a mercy seat at HIs throne of grace. HIs very nature provides mercy when we are found guilty of trespassing HIs Word. I hear a song resonating in my spirit today:

O Come to the Altar, Elevation Worship

Are you hurting and broken within?
Overwhelmed by the weight of your sin?
Jesus is calling

Have you come to the end of yourself
Do you thirst for a drink from the well?
Jesus is calling

O come to the altar
The Father’s arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood of Jesus Christ

Leave behind your regrets and mistakes
Come today there’s no reason to wait
Jesus is calling

Bring your sorrows and trade them for joy
From the ashes a new life is born
Jesus is calling (Oh, oh)

O come to the altar
The Father’s arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood of Jesus Christ…

Yes, this is one place where everyone is welcome.
