DOUBLE!

Have you ever felt like your problems were multiplied; the old saying, "when it rains, it pours" , applies to you? You are not the only one that feels like this. It’s sometimes as if a signal has gone out, and you wear a red flag saying, "bring trouble my way".

 The Israelites became so familiar with trouble that even God addressed their situation:

Because you got a double dose of trouble
and more than your share of contempt,
Your inheritance in the land will be doubled
and your joy go on forever. Isaiah 61:6-7 (MSG)

If we can claim the promises of God to His chosen people, as one of His chosen too, this is one promise to claim. What’a the harm in asking God to extend His favor to not only turn around your troubles, but to grant you double blessings in return as an inheritance? When we look unto God not only to the be the "author, but the finisher of our faith", we can trust that what He provides is always above and beyond "anything we can ever ask for or even think".

I like that phrase that says, "your joy (will) go on forever". Don’t you?
