Sing!
Singing is not a small gift. It is huge. For music is a universal language. Even if we can’t understand the words, the emotion that transmits from a song sends a message to the soul. Is it any wonder the Psalmist said:
Sing a new song to the Lord!
Let the whole earth sing to the Lord!
2 Sing to the Lord
Each day proclaim the good news that he saves.
3 Publish his glorious deeds among the nations.
Tell everyone about the amazing things he does. Psalm 96:1-3 (NLT)
When we lift up our voices in song to the Lord and give praises to His name, the message resounds and reverberates throughout the whole earth. When the words of our song tell of the "amazing things He does", then our witness has a way of sticking. I love songs and over the years it has been a transmission of the Spirit of God to comfort, lift, even determine direction for me. While I have not been blessed with a melodious voice to parade the songs I love, the words and music minister to me in the day and night seasons of my life.
For those who God has blessed with a harmonious voice it is my prayer that they will use it to put a smile on a child’s face, to minister hope to a struggling parent, to lift up a disheartened senior citizen. And even those of us who can’t sing songs, we can yet ‘proclaim the good news that He saves", and even, "publish His glorious deeds among the nations". This too is a beautiful song!

Maria
