The End Was Just the Beginning!
We have just passed through another remembrance of the glorious crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Yet, this end was not an end at all, in fact it was just a beginning. The gates swung open wide and you and I can walk in to a whole new world. We can live in the glorious liberty of those who once were captive to sin and now have been set free; free to live the life God intended for us to live from the beginning of time:
Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls! Hebrews 12:2-3 (MSG)
When that deceiver comes to try to bring you discouragement or defeat, remind him that he is a liar and was a liar from the beginning. Let him know you will not fall for his deception and remind yourself of the high price that Jesus paid for your freedom. As the scripture states above: "study how He did it". The events that led to the weekend we just experienced will happen in some shape, fashion or form to all of us. Though I am not suggesting we will all go to a cruel cross – there will be crosses we will face in our lives. There will be times when we will have severe opposition for standing in righteousness; there will be times when the crowd will praise you one day and want to get rid of you the next. At those times, remember the example set by our Lord; He endured the cross, the shame, whatever they threw at Him – why? He knew what the end was going to be, and that end surely came to pass. It wil come to pass for you too – trust HIs Word.
