The "Stand With" Verse!
You have heard of a "stand-by" – usually referring to something that is available if you need it. Well, there is one scripture that is for me a "stand-with":
28 So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together to fit into God’s perfect plan of bringing good into our lives, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose. Romans 8:28 (TPT)
Not only do I need to see this passage of scripture as true, I need to stand with it through whatever adversity comes my way. For every detail woven in our lives is not readily viewed as a good thing! Tragedy may strike, heartbreak may occur, failure can loom over our every endeavor. God does not say all things will be good, but that He will bring good out of all things!
The caveat in this scripture is that we must be "lovers (of God)" who have surrendered to His divine purpose. Surrendering to His purpose means that there are probably going to be more times that we don’t understand what is going on, than times that we do! The hidden door in this facet of our journey is the door to trust. Even if we can’t see it, we trust Him, we know that He is working in our behalf. Sometimes things we have gotten ourselves into that were not a part of the plan, can cause God a little more work to make it happen for our good. Thankfully He is up to the challenge – after all He is the omnipotent, omniscient God..
Therefore we gird ourselves together, standing with the One who can do anything but fail, knowing that no matter how bad it looks, good is going to come!
