There’s So Much More to the Story…

The Apostle Paul in Galatian 1, about he 13th verse begins like this:

13-16 I’m sure that you’ve heard the story of my earlier life when I lived in the Jewish way…

The Apostle Paul used the above line to begin telling his remarkable story about his conversion from that of a strict Pharisee to a liberated child of God who acknowledged Jesus as Lord. However, if we stop there, we’re missing out on so much, because, “there is so much more to his story”.

Each of us have a story that is playing out every day of our lives. Some of our chapters seem to be on repeat because we never deviate from our activities, it’s the same thing every day. Others cannot settle for the same or the mundane and adventure and challenges fill the chapters of their lives.

What is your story saying? Whatever you have lived out so far, there IS so much more to your story, particularly if you are serving Jesus. For Jesus wants to take us on an adventure every day. He wants us to journey with Him over unknown terrain to us, as He teaches us to walk by faith and learn the ways of the Kingdom of God.

We are very close to approaching the observance of Holy Week, 2023. We will no doubt hear in our churches a recap of the events that led up to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This was the culmination of Part I of His life – His work on earth. But you know that Jesus story did not end there, in fact the scripture says,“He ever lives to make intercession for us“(Hebrews 7:25). Jesus is still writing HIs story and will be until the end of eternity, and we know that eternity will never end.

For those of us who are blood-bought Christians it is the same for us – Part I – now; Part II- eternity. Some of us need to think of how we can draw our readers into our story, let’s live a life worthy of passing it on.
