Time to Refresh My Wardrobe!

It seems as every where I turn I am reminded of the need to refresh my wardrobe. The wardrobe of last season is out of date:

So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it. Colossians 3:12 (MSG)

Try as I might to live out the virtues listed above, there has been something missing. Whether the outfit I chose lacked accessories, or whether it just didn’t fit the season – I have been struggling with proper attire.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who has struggled in this area. As we journey on this sojourn called life, it is so easy to find that we are not properly dressed to take an offense forged against us, or to forgive those who forged it. There are times when we are ill-equipped to keep our temperament in check, or maybe we’ve outgrown our discipline.

Fortunately there is a remedy. When we go shopping for love- love from the Father and that love abides deep in us, it causes our wardrobe to be renewed. We are able to not only be fashion-ready, but we become an influencer to those around us of the best apparel. For with God as our designer, we are always a trend setter!
