WHAT SAY YE?
What were the words you spoke today as you began your day? What have you been saying throughout this global crisis? What have you told your children? What has been your response when asked what you think? What words have you made your confession?
“You have minds like a snake pit! How do you suppose what you say is worth anything when you are so foul-minded? It’s your heart, not the dictionary, that gives meaning to your words. A good person produces good deeds and words season after season. An evil person is a blight on the orchard. Let me tell you something: Every one of these careless words is going to come back to haunt you. There will be a time of Reckoning. Words are powerful; take them seriously. Words can be your salvation. Words can also be your damnation.”Matthew 12:37 (MSG)
While we are bombarded with the opinions of the political pundits, the self-appointed technocrats, and the doomsday prophets, what are you saying to keep your spirit in line with what the God of this universe can do? As dark as days may get, there is the One who placed the sun in position to bring light to this dark world, and each and every day it rises, whether we see it or not. Every day we can take assurance in what the Word of God says:
21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
22 It is of the Lord‘s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
24 The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
25 The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord. Lamentations 3: 21-26 (KJV)
Yes, we are experiencing challenging times; yes there is a need to pray for the blood of Jesus to cover both ourselves, our families, our communities, our world; yes, there should be a cry of repentance from each of us for not properly honoring the God of our salvation. Yes, there are far too many of us who have not given God an unreserved “YES” to do what He called us to do. And yes, there is grace appropriated to those who will call upon His Name:
“If you’ll hold on to me for dear life,” says God,
“I’ll get you out of any trouble.
I’ll give you the best of care
if you’ll only get to know and trust me.
Call me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad times;
I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party.
I’ll give you a long life,
give you a long drink of salvation!” Psalm 91:14-16 (MSG
Again, I ask, what say ye?
