Who We Are!

This weekend I was pleasantly surprised to find two people who are presently in my life, who were affected during their teen years by an organization that I had begun many years before. This is not the first time that this occurred, for one of my former high school students went to great lengths to find me after a long absence of communication. To actually see people who were affected by something that was born out of my spirit greatly encouraged my heart.

How many of you, like me, have those days (and maybe even years) when you wonder if what you do has provided any value to the earth. Sadly, I know that I am not alone and particularly people in my "senior" category of life tend to lament the years when they feel as if their life did not count for anything. If we would confess up, it is because we are not reading enough from our Bible, for the scriptures are filled with telling us who we are. Consider this passage in Ephesians:

For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us]. Ephesians 2:10 (AMP)

How much more can God say? He likens us to a master piece of art, personally and uniquely  designed by God Himself, for  a specific work, brought forth at a set time, with paths already established, that we might live a good life. WOW!  If we don’t see our life like this, then we either are not taking advantage of all that He has provided for us, or we need new glasses!

Maybe we should all take out the pencil and paper and make two columns, one side listing all the good things He has done to us and through us, and the second side all the bad things. Without knowing your life, the odds are set, blessings will outweigh the other, at least two to 1. Why not try it?
