Why Do We Trust This God To Work For Us?

When you give someone, anyone license to work in your behalf, you have to have a great deal of confidence in them. The kind of confidence that comes with a relationship, probably a long-standing relationship. None of us in our right mind will give a carrte blanche to a stranger to govern the affairs of our life!

The good news is that we can trust someone to work for us, because they have proven to be absolutely trustworthy:

 ¹² For we have the living Word of God, which is full of energy, and it pierces more sharply than a two-edged sword. It will even penetrate to the very core of our being where soul and spirit, bone and marrow meet! It interprets and reveals the true thoughts and secret motives of our hearts. ¹³ There is not one person who can hide their thoughts from God, for nothing that we do remains a secret, and nothing created is concealed, but everything is exposed and defenseless before his eyes, to whom we must render an account. Hebres 4:12-13 (TPT)

This passage lets us know that God is not somewhere lost as to what is going on in the world, or in our hearts. He knows the way we take... He has given His Word to let us know that He sees our every fraility, He knows our every deed – good and bad, and He hears our every thought. With this kind of knowledge how can we even hope that He will work for us, for we know better than anybody how far we come from being good? Well, that’s a good question and there is a good answer:

So then, we must cling in faith to all we know to be true. For we have a magnificent King-Priest, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who rose into the heavenly realm for us, and now sympathizes with us in our frailty. ¹⁵ He understands humanity, for as a Man, our magnificent King-Priest was tempted in every way just as we are, and conquered sin. ¹⁶ So now we come freely and boldly to where love is enthroned, to receive mercy’s kiss and discover the grace we urgently need to strengthen us in our time of weakness. Hebrews 4:14-16 (TPT)

Jesus came to earth to experience the temptations that we face, the emotions that we go through. He not only understands us, but He was tempted just like us. Yet, Jesus conquered that temptation and was able to make it through this life without sinning. And He was willing to pay the ultimate price to salvage the mess we make of our lives, He went to a bloody cross and became the sacrifice, the atonement for our sins. He freed us from the penalty of sin, which is death. He now sits at the right Hand of God interceding for us, cheering us on, and with a kiss of mercy, strengthens us in our time of weakness. 

This is someone we can trust completely to work for us!
