Never, Ever, Ever Stop!

There are many things we need to change in our lives. Some things we need to stop doing all together. However, there is one thing that we should never stop doing – and that is to pray:

So, first and foremost, I urge God’s people to pray. They should make their  requests, petitions, and thanksgivings on behalf of all humanity. 2 Teach them to pray for kings (or anyone in high places for that matter) so that we can lead quiet, peaceful lives—reverent, godly, and holy— 3 all of which is good and acceptable before the eyes of God our Savior, 1 Timothy 2:1-3 (The Voice)

In this scripture Paul admonishes Timothy to teach all those in his charge to pray, and not just to pray for a select few but to pray for :all humanity: – those we like and those we don’t. It is particularly interesting that he then says to pray for "kings (for anyone in high places for hat matter):. One of the biggest problems we are facing in this hour is the division we are facing in our government. Even those who appear to be the most committed of Christians have fallen into the subtle trap of the enemy to allow disagreement to generate into hatred.

There are always going to be people that we favor over others. There are going to be people that cause us to be emotionally affected in a negative way – God’s antedote is to pray! What happens when we pray for the Holy Spirit to come into a situation that is difficult, and we release our feelings to God, is that we give God permission to act on our behalf. He becomes our advocate. Entrusting Him with that authority He is able to investigate the situation, determine by the facts the probable causes and results. When this ocurs, He is able to make recommendations for justice to be served. A good advocate will not just fight for the wants of their
