Position Yourself!

There is no doubt that we are presently in a war that can take us out. It is not in most places a hand-to-hand combat, rather it is a mental war fighting for the hearts and minds of our young people. If successful, this culture war could change every facet of life in this nation. And if these immoral warriors succeed and there is no moral compass in this nation, it is inevitable that it will fall at the hands of the enemy who will mock us for our lack of conviction.

There is always a remedy however. King Jehosophat decided to align himself with others who were not walking the fear and admonition of the Lord. It didn’t take long before he found out that the peace he had been experiencing was under attack. Fear tried to overtake him, and then a Word came:

15 He said, “Listen, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Listen, King Jehoshaphat! This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.16 Tomorrow, march out against them. You will find them coming up through the ascent of Ziz at the end of the valley that opens into the wilderness of Jeruel.17 But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the Lord’s victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the Lord is with you!”2 Chronicles 20:15-17(NLT)

Jahaziel spoke this Word to Jehosophat and to the people of Judah and Jerusalem. They would not have to fight, but they would have to “position themselves”. And once they positioned themselves, they were stand still and see the victory of the Lord! The same decree is being issued today. We need not get out the swords and the guns; what we need to do is to take a position, and stand on it. There are more who believe in Godly righteousness and truth, than there are that don’t – if they would just line up and declare their POSITION!

Do we believe the Bible who used the prophets to declare to people the Word of the Lord? Do we believe that there are yet prophets today crying out the same? Are we listening? And if so, do we BELIEVE that the same God who delivered Jehosophat can deliver us today? Or are we convinced that a few ungodly people have the right to bring their immorality into our midst and dominate our culture and the future of our children?
