Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?
There are some big events that everyone wish they were on the guest list. When making that list it’s hard to keep it to yourself. As the days of the event draw near, the excitement builds. Well, God has a dinner list and there are only a select group that get invited:
God, who gets invited
to dinner at your place?
How do we get on your guest list?
2 "Walk straight,
act right,
tell the truth.
3-4 "Don’t hurt your friend,
don’t blame your neighbor;
despise the despicable. Psalm 15:1-4 (MSG)
It doesn’t seem to be too hard to get on this list. Yet countless numbers failed to make the list. God was not discouraged however. He decided He would make another attempt at getting as many as would come to His party. He sent His Son this time with the invitation, and His Son said He would even help all those who were willing to prepare:
19 "The people I love, I call to account—prod and correct and guide so that they’ll live at their best. Up on your feet, then! About face! Run after God!
20-21 "Look at me. I stand at the door. I knock. If you hear me call and open the door, I’ll come right in and sit down to supper with you. Conquerors will sit alongside me at the head table, just as I, having conquered, took the place of honor at the side of my Father. That’s my gift to the conquerors! Rev. 3: 19-21 (MSG)
It looks like God wants everyone to be there! Have you got your invitation yet?
