We’re In the Will!
Death is a part of life. It is a blessing when one "dies in the Lord" and is transported from this world to the next, where life will never end. It is an even greater blessing when those left behind "live for the Lord" and don’t desecrate the memory of their loved one by fighting over the inheritance.
Fortunately for believers God understood His creation well and made the terms of His will explicit:
4-7 But when the time arrived that was set by God the Father, God sent his Son, born among us of a woman, born under the conditions of the law so that he might redeem those of us who have been kidnapped by the law. Thus we have been set free to experience our rightful heritage. You can tell for sure that you are now fully adopted as his own children because God sent the Spirit of his Son into our lives crying out, "Papa! Father!" Doesn’t that privilege of intimate conversation with God make it plain that you are not a slave, but a child? And if you are a child, you’re also an heir, with complete access to the inheritance. Galatians 4:4-7 (MSG)
The Father knowing that His creation would all seek to partake of the inheritance left by His Son and knowing the craftiness of some, God sent His Spirit as a guarantee to determine those who rightfully had access to this inheritance:
It is God who enables us, along with you, to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us, 22 and he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything he has promised us.2 Corinthians 1:21-22(KJV)
The Spirit of God identifies believers as those who are fully entitled "complete access to the inheritance". As such the Spirit in us cries out to the Father in relationship. That relationship is not predicated by a set of ancient rules, Christ abolished all that on the cross. We can now freely enter into not only relationship with God, but live in expectation that all God promised us in the "will" is ours.
