Death Brought Death to an Age-old Dilemma!

There are some problems that seem as if they are so deeply rooted that they will never go away. Years turn into centuries and still they are not resolved. God looked at one such problem for hundreds of years and with a sacrificial death, brought an end to it:

14 For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us. 15 He did this by ending the system of law with its commandments and regulations. He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself one new people from the two groups. 16 Together as one body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of his death on the cross, and our hostility toward each other was put to death. Ephesians 2:14-16 (NLT)

For centuries Jews and Gentiles were hostile to one another. The cultural differences permeated into their governing system and made it seemingly impossible to arrive at a solution where they could peaceably co-exist. God had a plan to make peace with these two groups by bringing them together into one new people. God did they through the sacrificial death of His only Son on the cross. With this act, both groups were both reconciled to God and the entry was made for them to become one new man in Christ.

While we know that there is still wars and rumors of wars going on, and the Middle East is still a hot bed of conflict. For those who accept this atoning work done at Calvary, there is no hostility – Jews and Gentiles have ceased from being enemies and have become brothers and sisters in Christ.
