I’m Reaching For Something Higher!

Today we are taking a break from our study in Ephesians, because next week we are going to take the entire week looking at Ephesians 4. There may be a question as to why we are looking at these verses. One thing I have noticed is that there is no longer in our preached word  an emphasis on looking at different passages of scripture in context. So often they are either ignored or taken entirely out of context. While this may not pertain specifically to you, or your local assembly, it certainly applies to the church worldwide. While I don’t count myself a Bible scholar, I like to look at the simplicity of what God is saying, when we look at it a little bit at a time. More than that I am reaching for something higher:

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider that I have made it my own yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead Philippians 3:13 (AMP)

For years I have shied away from really teaching, staying just close enough to the presbytery to get by. In this season I am reaching for a greater revelation of the Word of God not only to help me, but to come against the spirit of this age which wants to dilute its’ timeless truth in this generation.

I desire that you would join with me in prayer, that those of us who have been in the "way" a long time don’t forget that our greatest contribution and legacy is to impart God’s Word into the next generation as a life-changing truth that will enable them to transcend the apostasy of this age and be fit ambassadors in the Kingdom of God.
