Saturday Edition!
Yesterday we didn’t get a chance to do our regular post, so this morning we thought we would do a special edition. Coming away from the book of Ephesians for a moment, I want to just put in a plug for why we have been looking more intently at some of the epistles. It has often been said that it is never too late to learn. I believe that to be true. I also believe that reviewing is a form not only of reinforcing what you know, but learning new things. Scripture should never get old or familiar. The Bible is the one document that is living, breathing new life into us every time we open it.
Today I want to focus on a familiar verse in a somewhat unfamiliar translation. Psalm 119:105 reads in the MSG:
By your words I can see where I’m going; they throw a beam of light on my dark path. I’ve committed myself and I’ll never turn back from living by your righteous order. Everything’s falling apart on me, GodGod
This speaks to me today and in this season. By reading and re-reading and reflecting and meditating and even studying we get a brighter light to our pathway. We find a little more about what we can do based on what God has provided for us. Not just when we’re falling apart, but especially when everything around us is crazy, the Word of God has the ability to put us back together even better than before. We also find God’s expectations for us and that which we can expect from God. The world and everything about it seems intent on taking us off course, yet open this treasure that we have been given to any book and you will find comfort, encouragement and direction.
It is truly is the gift that keeps on giving!
