Be Still!

Everywhere you go, everywhere you look, activity abounds. We’re all in such a hurry – racing for a prize we have yet to identify. We say we want peace, we want contentment, we want love. Yet each of those things are wrapped up in "’things" – that are the real determinant as to whether we have what we want. 

Anxiety over world affairs has escalated. We wonder whether our officials, elected and otherwise, will send us into a senseless world war.  Yet, doesn’t the scripture say:

"Be still and know (recognize, understand) that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth." Psalm 46:10 (AMP)

Quicker than a flash of lighting, God can turn all of this chaos around. What is holding Him back? Could it be because we are not still? Because we don’t know and really recognize or even understand that He is GOD! This is the first premise we have to settle on – either God is going to be God or Baal will be God in our lives. It can’t be both ways. God will share His glory with no man. 

Hence, either we are going to trust our officials with getting the job done, or we going to trust the God of Heaven and earth to do what He longs to do: rise up in exaltation and rule over the affairs of men and nations!
