ABANDON!

Abandonment is a big issue today. Worldwide statistics indicate that over 153 million children are orphans. Many of these children have been abandoned by their parents. There are still places in the world where unwanted children are left to die – and this occurs in both developed and underdeveloped countries. There are also some children, who live with one or both parents who feel abandoned. They see themselves as an inconvenience, a throw-away, and live a life of depression and despondency.

Scripture affirms that there is one who will never abandon us:

7 Then Moses called to Joshua and said to him in the sight of all [the people of] Israel, "Be strong and courageous, for you will go with this people into the land which the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you will give it to them as an inheritance. 8 It is the Lord who goes before you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or abandon you. Do not fear or be dismayed."Deuteronomy 31:7-8 (AMP)

This Word given to Joshua as the children of Israel approached the Promise Land was not just for Joshua, it is for all of us who will reach up to God and believe:

Psalm 9:10 says:

And those who know Your name [who have experienced Your precious mercy] will put their confident trust in You, For You, O Lord, have not abandoned those who seek You.

Psalm 27:10:

Although my father and my mother have abandoned me, Yet the Lord will take me up [adopt me as His child.

Psalm 94:14:

For the Lord will not abandon His people, Nor will He abandonHis inheritance.

We could go on and on throughout scripture to identify passages where God is assuring us that He will be with us, now and forevermore.

Trust Him,

Maria
