One Job Only A God Can Do!
More and more as time unfolds we recognize that human beings have a great capacity both for knowledge and for invention. It s said that the Silicon Valley in California holds one-third of all investment in venture capital in the United States. This home of major technology companies keeps producing new and innovative trends, showcasing the vast capability of man to continuously outdo himself. And it’s not just technology that man is advancing in; every day on Facebook and other social media sources there are pictures of young prodigies. Non-traditional minorities have excelled over and beyond what was expected of them in all fields. We are living in a great time of human advancement.
Yet, for all that man can do, there are some things he will never be able to do:
Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish! We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. Ephesians 2:8-9 (MSG)
We can conquer space, we can find cures for diseases, but we cannot "save ourselves". As the above scripture points out, "saving is all his idea and all his work"! The simplicity of coming to God to be saved actually prevents many people from doing it – they figure it has to take something more than just "trusting Him to do it". The truth that it is a gift is hard to comprehend. God has so fixed this most essential factor that man can in no way take credit for it; he can’t have enough money to buy it; nor can a certain creed or race qualify to the extent of another. It is "the gift of God, lest any man should boast". That’s it, that’s all!
