FROM PAGAN TO PRIEST!

When we come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and receive redemption, the finished work of Calvary’s cross,  we step into a brand new life. While our profession may be that of doctor, lawyer, or Indian Chief, our vocation has turned from pagan to priest:

But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted. 1Peter 2:9 (MSG)

The transformation work begins, taking us from whatever ungodly life we were engaged in, into a glorious new life that is elevated out of darkness, into His marvelous life. We shed off the garments of our past life and step into the priestly robes of righteousness. In fact it is so dramatic, it is like "night and day". We go from having no good news to share to having the best news available to this world. We go from being just one in a crowd to standing out and standing up.

God doesn’t do this to make us a show-off, rather He wants us to let Him show off. To show off HIs goodness and mercy; to show off His lovingkindness; His tremendous grace towards the children of men. initially men might ridicule you and even perhaps try to avoid you. However, consistency is the key. Maintaining a life of faith and assurance in God and HIs Word will make even the greatest skeptic take note.

Take courage my friend, don’t try to fight your own battles; don’t feel as if you are responsible for making people believe. God has chosen you, He:
