It Takes A Grateful Heart!

One of the complexities that we as human beings face is dealing with our own emotions. There are times when certain emotions keep us from receiving the best of what God has for us. For example, we can be so angry with someone that we fail to see the beauty in a sunny day, or miss the opportunity to share the love of God with someone who desperately needs to know HIm. Anger, frustration, hurt feelings, jealousy, offense, to name just a few of the culprits who plague us can ruin more than our day, they can ruin a lifetime:

but just as it is written [in Scripture], "Things which the eye has not seen and the ear has not heard, And which have not entered the heart of man, All that God has prepared for those who love Him[who hold Him in affectionate reverence, who obey Him, and who gratefully recognize the benefits that He has bestowed]. 1 Corinthians 2:9 (AMP)

As this scripture points out, the "benefits" God has provided for us are ours, yet to receive them we need to have both reverence and obedience to God and a grateful heart. When we are able to push aside the "small" things that want to offend us, and keep our heart fixed on the scriptures, then wonderfully and bountifully our eyes become open to see more than we could ever hope for, or even imagine.

It’s so worth it to have a grateful heart!
