Every Thing?

If we admit it there are some scriptures we don’t want to put a period on, instead, maybe a question mark. One such scripture is found in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV):

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

God, do you really mean EVERY thing? Of course He does, because whether God orchestrates the plan or not, He can certainly make it work for our good (Romans 8:28).

I was thinking very early this morning as I had to prepare a bakery item to take to an event, that I am eternally grateful for going through some tough financial times. Although they lasted a lot longer than I wish they had, one thing I realize is that they made me have to dig deep to come up with creative things to feed the children, or the unexpected company that would come to join us. I would often find that I didn’t have "this" or didn’t have "that" to complete something I was making. Calling on the Father for help, it never failed that He would give me an alternate plan that was even better than the one I first thought of.

Such was the case this morning when I thought I had everything I needed for this item I was going to bake, only to find that something vital to the item was missing. I didn’t fret, instead I sought out an alternate plan and the result was magnificent.

I am not by nature a patient person. Also, by nature I am not flexible. As Romans 5 so eloquently puts it, "tribulation works patience, and patience experience, and experience hope". I’ve learned through tribulation to wait on God, and through this experience I have a hope that every THING, is going to work out. That’s something to give thanks for! Amen?
