THERE’S STILL TIME!

The new year will usher in 2019 in a little over 72 hours. There is still time to do a few things that will bless your new year.

First of all forgive everybody, everything! The people you are holding hostage in your heart are probably not in the least bit thinking about you, or whatever you are holding them hostage to. They are no doubt going about their life, not even giving you a thought. Is it worth clouding your heart and mind with whatever offended you at some point? Let it go! (I confess it’s easier said than done, but with God ALL things are possible! – We have to believe that or our living will continuously be wracked with frustration and pain.

Secondly, forgive yourself. God has placed His Spirit in earthen vessels – we are flawed, we make mistakes, we will fail, at times whether consciously or not we will sin. God has made provision for our frailties. His going to the cross was for past, present and future sins. If we reject 1John 1:9 we are rejecting the finished work of Calvary. If we stumble and fall – get back up again! A just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again Proverbs 24:16q (KJV)

Third: Seek reconciliation with fallen relationships wherever possible. Don’t allow pride to separate you from the people that you love. There’s no such thing as, "it’s been too long, we’ll never come together again now", Where there is life there is hope, where there is hope, there is a promise – stand on it.

Fourth: You say you want to change, you know you even need to change in some areas. Bring them before the Lord in prayer. Allow the Holy Spirit to "perfect those things that concern you". Invite the HELPER to help you with your infirmities and weaknesses.

Last, set goals. They don’t have to be a full-fledged vision casting. One or two short range and long range goals can give you the jumpstart you need to greet 2019 with anticipation. God knows that we need to have something to "reach for" – He welcomes us putting our God-given abilities to work.

Finally, finish well in God!

But I do not consider my life as something of value or dear to me, so that I may [with joy] finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify faithfully of the good news of God’s [precious, undeserved] grace [which makes us free of the guilt of sin and grants us eternal life.  Acts 20:24 (AMP)
