Every Day We Need to Do This!

 There’s a little song my children learned in Christian school that goes like this:

When I wake up in the morning,

The first thing that I do

Is get down on my knees and say,

"Good Morning Lord, How are You?"

I don’t know any more of the rest of the lyrics – but these words have always stuck with me. What a way to start the day.

If there is a second thing we need to do, it is pray Psalm 143:8(NIV):

Show me the way I should go,
for to you I entrust my life.

No matter how much we plan, none of us knows when we wake up what a day will bring. As determined as we may be to follow a set course, there are variables that can occur that can drastically change our well-orchestrated plans. There is however One who does know, and if we determine to seek Him first, although it may not grant us greater knowledge, it will certainly help us gain greater confidence:

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: Philippians 1:5 (KJV)
