Sufficient For the Day!

I don’t know if you’re like me, but for much of my life I have lived worrying about what was to come. Using my logical deduction of, a + b = c, I would determine beforehand the outcome of things. The trouble with that is I would leave no space for God, for the"a" was the event, the "b" were the people involved, and based on those two things alone I determined what the "c" had to be. Yet, there were countless times when the "c" was interrupted by a visit by the Holy Spirit and the outcome was totally different than my previous deduction. Example: a = can’t pay the house note; b = I don’t have the money; c = an unexpected supply from an unexpected source – house note – PAID!

If we let Him, our Father has more surprises than drops of water in the Atlantic Ocean! Yet, so many times we fight Him with worry, fear, frustration, anxiety, and the list goes on. It’s no wonder Jesus said:

Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes. Matthew 6:34 (MSG)

Worrying about what is to come can never change the outcome. What it can do is give you all kinds of afflictions, a nervous disorder, hypertension, ulcers – just to name a few. How much better to give each day to God and trust Him to deal with that day, (which usually has enough to deal with in and of itself) and then trust Him to deal with the next day, and the next…

What I find it usually boils down to is a case of not really realizing just how much God loves us and wants to do for us. Or somehow we haven’t settled on a feeling of being worthy of the good things of God. We’ve been struggling so long we feel as if that is the way our life is supposed to be. Neither of these taunts by the enemy is true. God really doers love us with an everlasting love and He longs to make our way stress-free:

Good sense brings blessing, but the road of the treacherous is long and rough. Proverbs 13:15 (The Voice)

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.Matthew 11:29-30 (KJV)

Enough said!
