Until Then…
Sometimes you don’t have complete knowledge and you may even may not have all the facts, but something in your gut tells you, "beware". Now unless you are a person given to fear, instinct or premonition or discernment, whatever you want to call. it, are all God-given tools to alert us when we are approaching something that we need to pay attention to. While I know this is a strange way for me to start a post, I hope it did arrest your interest enough to hear me out.
I believe we are living in a pivotal time in history. While there may be segments that seem to appear familiar, we hope that what we see before us is not likened to some of the ancient governments like Rome. Bible prophecy speaks to many of the things that will happen in the end-times, but there appears to be no specific prophetic declaration regarding the United State of America. Does that mean we will not be a part of the end-times, or is there something hidden – that will be revealed in the end-times in our regard? Whatever the case, as believers, just as in every other situation we face, we should pray in faith believing that God will bring us through.
I saw a familiar scripture that got my attention in a new way:
53 Why didn’t you arrest me in the Temple? I was there every day. But this is your moment, the time when the power of darkness reigns." Luke 22:53 (NLT)
There is no doubt that Jesus had "All POWER" both in heaven and in earth. Why did He utter these words? Of course in hind-sight we know that because "it was written" that Jesus came for such a purpose, and in the Garden of Gethsemane God allowed, "the power of darkness: to reign". Even as Jesus said on the cross,
Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? Matthew 26:53(KJV)
Jesus had an alternative! He did not have to succumb to the"power of darkness" – rather, He submitted to it -because He knew, that as the old preacher says, that although He was crucified, "in three days He would rise again!
One day, our world will experience once again, "the power of darkness to reign". All of our prayers, all of our tears will not matter – the dark one will come, the man of perdition, the one who is totally the ANTI-Christ!
If that is inevitable, why pray? Why believe? Scripture gives us an answer for that:
4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. John9:45 (KJV)
Jesus knew HIs assignment was to work the works of God while it was the day. He knew night was coming, but until then…He worked! This is our charge – not to say,"what’s the use, evil is going to come and rule." NO! We work, we pray, we believe – we plant seeds of life so that abundant harvests will come forth! Yes, one day the anti-Christ will come, but, until then…after that we’ll be going home!
