EXPECT!!

 Are you ready?  Are you in position? Are you excited? We’re here, we’re right on the brink of something brand new. While each new day offers us the potential for something brand new, how exciting it is to reach a new pinnacle, a brand new decade. Can’t you just hear the words of our Lord speaking:

16 This is what the Eternal One says, the One who does the impossible,
the One who makes a path through the sea, a smooth road through tumultuous waters,

The One who drags out chariots and horses,
armies and warriors, and drowns them in the sea—
They will go down, never to rise again;
their lives are snuffed out like a candle wick:

18 Eternal One: Don’t revel only in the past,
or spend all your time recounting the victories of days gone by.
19 Watch closely: I am preparing something new; it’s happening now, even as I speak,
and you’re about to see it. I am preparing a way through the desert;
Waters will flow where there had been none. I
saiah 43:16-19 (The Voice)

The prophet Isaiah speaking the Word of God to the people of God still rings true for us today. We have an illustrious past, where we saw the Hand of God, reveled in His mighty works. We all know of those times when that "suddenly" appeared – bills were paid, doors were open, bodies were healed, relationships renewed. HE DID IT! We tried on our own, we couldn’t do it. Out of no where, suddenly, things were transformed – provision was made – all things made new!

Yet the prophet says, "don’t revel in that – instead, look, watch closely – there’s a new day dawning, something brand new is on the brink, and best of all you are going to see it clearly. In fact, it’s going to be so great that it will be even as if a walkway has been prepared in the desert with flowing waters all around. I believe. I’m excited about what is to come because I’m persuaded as in the words that used to be on Oral Roberts show every Sunday,"something good is going to happen to you, this very day, this very hour; something good is going to happen to you, Jesus of Nazareth is passing your way." Copyright 1969 by Lexicon Misic, Inc written by Ralph Carmichael.
