A Quest For All!
Each of us is uniquely designed by God for a particular calling. Though we may share similar characteristics, because. no one of us is exactly the same there should never be a shortage for filling jobs – there is someone gifted to do every thing there is to do! There is one job however, that every one of us who is a believer is qualified for and should actively pursue:
In other words, it was through the Anointed One that God was shepherding the world, not even keeping records of their transgressions, and he has entrusted to us the ministry of opening the door of reconciliation to God. We are ambassadors of the Anointed One who carry the message of Christ to the world, as though God were tenderly pleading with them directly through our lips. So we tenderly plead with you on Christ’s behalf, "Turn back to God and be reconciled to him."2 Corinthians 5:19-20 TPT
Each of us no matter how different we are, are all called to be "ambassadors of the Anointed One" and each of us are called to share the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to the world. It does not matter how unique our story is, when we share from our heart the transforming work of grace that God has done, it will reach the heart of another, even someone vastly different than you are.
In 2 Corinthians 5:19-20 there is an urgency in Paul as he implores the Corinthians to be reconciled to God. In this chapter Paul reminds the Corinthians that they once viewed Christ as they did any other person, on the outward appearance. However, when Christ comes into our life, and we understand that we are transparent before Him, we long to be made right, no longer alienated from the God of our Salvation, but united with Him. And Christ does just that, He reconciles us unto Himself, and when He does that He also gives us, all. of us, a charge – to be ministers of this reconciliation so that others may also gain this same union.
Stop and think about it, we come before Christ, a wretch undone. By His grace the scales fall off of our eyes and we know that He sees us, who we really are deep down, beneath the clothes, the education, the persona. Then He reaches His Hand to us and says, "Come" – "come and drink of the water of life freely". We timidly come, and with every step forward we gain courage to life up our eyes, to see, really see LOVE. We get caught in its’ embrace and it spins us around from that which we are to someone new, brand new. We automatically know it, but it becomes more evident with every passing day – "I have been given a new life, I am reconciled to God, my sins have been forgiven, I am free"!
How can we hold back from those we love. this great treasure? In a world of increased specialization, this is the one quest that all can pursue.
