In Comes, Hope!

Have you ever felt like God failed you? That you had put all of. your trust in Him working out a situation for you, and it fell through so flat that you lost all hope? Have you ever failed yourself? Have you ventured out into the unknown with all kinds of courage thinking, "I CAN DO THIS! I’VE GOT IT!" And then, next thing you know, all of your hopes and dreams, all that you believed for, planned, and aspired to – fell completely through?

Well, I’ve been there, more than once or twice.  It seems like I was lost in the ocean with waves crashing all around me and no way out. I kind of felt like this:

"Failed," I say to myself. "My hope fails
in the face of what the Eternal One has done."

19 Grievous thoughts of affliction and wandering plagued my mind—
great bitterness and gall.
20 Grieving, my soul thinks back;
these thoughts cripple, and I sink down.  Lamentations. 3:18-20 (THE VOICE)

Despair, like a mountain, looms before you. You can’t see to even take a step forward, because you don’t know how to climb. You have two choices, you can either stay in that place, stuck; or you can look up – look to the One that is higher than YOU, higher than that mountain:

21 Gaining hope,

I remember and wait for this thought:

22 How enduring is God’s loyal love;
the Eternal has inexhaustible compassion.
23 Here they are, every morning, new!
Your faithfulness, God, is as broad as the day.Lamentations 3:21-23 (THE VOICE)

When you look up, and if you dare to look into God’s Word then you will gain hope. Just a drop of. hope, because it’s concentrated and potent from the heart of God and it will cause your thoughts to change – you will remember that God has an enduring love and compassion that has no end. You will remember that God’s mercies are fresh and new like manna from heaven, each and every day. You will remember that God is a faithful God – that He is loyal to those who are His. At this point, invariably this will happen:

24 Have courage, for the Eternal is all that I will need.

My soul boasts, "Hope in God; just wait." Lamentations 3:24. (THE VOICE)

Yes, by taking courage, you remember – God is all that I need. You talk to that mountain, and you wait – remembering that Your God is a mountain mover!
